Meet The Face Behind James Magee Photography

I’m James Magee, the proud owner of James Magee Photography.

I look forward to sharing my story. I hope that you will enjoy getting to know me better.

As a professional airline pilot, I was interested in drone photography when the first commercially viable drones got produced. I quickly realized that drones could get used for real estate listings, but people wanted more than just drone photos and videos.

Since I had been dabbling in photography for most of my life, I understood that clicking images of buildings required a unique skill set. So I invested over a year in developing a style of photography that produced beautiful results.

Licensed Drone Pilot

My airline job gave me plenty of time to have fun photographing homes, commercial properties, and production projects. So I decided to take on commercial photography projects in 2016 and felt proud to become one of the first licensed drone pilots in the DFW area.

My flying career is rewarding but strict and regimented, so photography is an excellent outlet. It lets me get out of my comfort zone and be creative while delighting clients. As a result, I adopt a get-it-done attitude which helps to exceed expectations. Being flexible and maintaining close relationships are also hallmarks of my customer service.

Luxury Listings

My first few projects were mainly for TV commercials. However, today, I work with real estate agents and production companies to achieve their vision. One of my most noteworthy achievements was taking photos and videos of luxury listings in Starwood that sold for $2.5M. A few years later, I got asked to retake the pictures and videos after remodeling the house. It went on to sell for $5M, which made me proud.

Camping With Boomer

When I’m not jet-setting around the world, I enjoy camping with my Goldendoodle, Boomer. I also have a farm in Tennessee that I tend to whenever time permits.
